Bannockburn Battlefield Landmark Facing Destruction

Gillies Hill, an important feature of the site of one of the most significant medieval battles, and possibly the most significant battle in Scotland, is in danger of eradication due to quarrying for stone for road building. Locals, historians and archaeologists alike are voicing their concerns, but Stirling Council admits the quarrying is due to go ahead and nothing may be done to stop it.
