Unlocked Wordhoard: The Decameron and Trauma

Sunday April 1, 2007
I wish I'd had a literature professor like Dr. Nokes when I was in college. Although I didn't need any motivation to try to empathize with writers, characters and peoples of times past (history geek here!), I know I would have benefited from the kind of thought-provoking exercise he describes in his blog. If you've ever looked at Boccaccio's Decameron as a mere collection of amusing stories, The Decameron and Trauma will add some perspective.
