Rare Medieval Inscription Discovered

Professor Kazimir Popkonstantikov, a Bulgarian archaeologist, has made the exciting discovery of a highly unusual inscription in a monastery in northeastern Bulgaria. Dating to the 10th century, the inscription indicates the burial site of a monk named Sinkel. The monastery, which was on the outskirts of the imperial capital of Veliki Preslav, may have played an important role in the First Bulgarian Empire.
