In Tal Al-Hasaka, in north eastern Syria, an archaeological team has uncovered a cathedral dating back to the early Christian era. Uncovered at the site were five-meter-high columns, still intact and decorated, a floor inlaid with with reddish-yellow baked clay, and the skeletal remains of an individual from the 5th century. He was apparently tortured.
