For those of you who are just rolling in cash -- and I know you're out there somewhere -- now might just be the perfect time to buy a castle. The asking price is only $25 million -- a steal!
The castle in question is the 11th-century chateau de Montbrun. Legend has it that Richard the Lionheart is buried on the grounds -- though officially, Richard is entombed at Fontevraud. Well, most of him, anyway. His heart was buried at Rouen and his brain and entrails are in an abbey at Chattoux. But the castle and the gorgeous grounds have more to commend it than pieces of a long-dead king. Check out the post by James Rothaar at JustLuxe for more information. Then dig into your sofa for some spare change and I'm sure you'll have no trouble purchasing it! Once you do, be sure to throw a party. You could invite, oh, some medieval history enthusiasts to stay for a week or ten.
Just a suggestion.
