Saint Nick

By April 25, 2012

Follow me on:

No, it's not Christmas, and this guy's not Santa Claus. He's Pope Saint Nicholas I, one of the few popes to be called "Great." Find out why in his Who's Who Profile.

(1) Jonathan Jarrett says:

“After two days holed up in St. Peter’s without food, Pope Nicholas managed to reconcile with Louis, although he was never able to get him back together with his wife. “

Louis’s wife was pretty formidable, and maybe deserves a Who’s Who of her own; but should it not be Lothar’s wife at issue in the final clause there? Sorry, a copy-editor’s point…

Wel spotted! It was Lothair who led the army and who never reconciled with his wife, not Louis. I’ve made the change in the document. Thanks for noticing, I appreciate it!
