Viking Women Exhumed
The bodies of two women were discovered with the Oseberg ship when it was first excavated in 1904. Reburied in 1948 in an aluminum casket in hopes that scientific advances would yield more information in the future, the casket was re-opened on Monday. Find out more in these articles:

Viking Ship Found in Britain
The remains of what is believed to be the first Viking ship ever discovered in Britain have been scanned with Ground Penetrating Radar in Meols, Wirral. First encountered in 1938, the boat was overlooked until plans to add a patio to a nearby pub brought the site to the attention of local history buffs and, eventually, to Professor Stephen Harding.
