Geographical data was derived from the National Geographic Atlas of the World, sixth edition, 1990. Historical data was derived from The Black Death by Philip Ziegler and from the Encyclopedia Britannica.

This map was designed to offer a general understanding of the course of the plague through Asia in the 14th century. No guarantee is made as to the complete accuracy of this geographic rendering.
