Hangman

Guess the Shakespearean Play & Poem Titles

Just for fun, I've provided a JavaScript hangman game for those of you who love word games or who simply can't spend enough time on the web. The script for this game was created by Rick Glusick and adapted by your Guide. It was obtained at the wonderful JavaScript Planet site, where you can find hundreds of free cut-and-paste JavaScripts for use on your own web page.

If you have trouble loading the game or making it work, try a different browser.

The word choices are the titles of Shakespeare's plays and poems. Because of the nature of the JavaScript, no titles with apostrophes (such as All's Well that Ends Well) are included. Shortened titles are used instead of the original longer versions (e.g., Pericles instead of Pericles, Prince of Tyre and Richard III instead of The Tragedy of King Richard the Third). After all, we don't want to make it too easy for you.

To play, simply click on the letter you'd like to guess. You get six wrong guesses before the little man is hanged. The link below will take you to a separate page; click the "Exit Game" button to return here or "Reset Game" to play again.

Good luck, and have fun!
