Charles Cotton

Cotton was a poet who also translated French historical and philosophical works (most notably the essays of Michel de Montaigne) into English. He also wrote The Compleate Gamester and The Planter's Manual, as well as that for which he is most famous: the section on fly fishing in The Compleat Angler.
