Battle on the Ice

The Teutonic Knights had invaded Russia and were poised to take Pskov. Alexander Nevsky led his forces in a fierce battle on the frozen channel between Lakes Chud and Pskov. This victory would ultimately stop the knights from further encroachment on Russian territory.

Thomas Hobbes

Philosopher, mathematician, political theorist and linguist, Hobbes is best known for his work on human nature and individual responsibility.

 

WHO DIED

1419:

St. Vincent Ferrer

Considered the patron saint of builders for his "building-up" and strengthening of the Catholic Church, Vincent was a missionary, philosopher, and professor of theology.
