Globe Theatre Burns |
|
During a performance of Shakespeare's Henry VIII, the thatched roof of the original Globe Theatre was set aflame by cannon fire and the building burned to the ground. Shakespeare himself was in Stratford-on-Avon at the time. The theater would be rebuilt in the following year. This item was suggested by John Herrmann. Thanks, John! |
