Henry VI

Henry VI was a mere child when he came to the throne on the death of his father Henry V. His weakness as a ruler and his occasional displays of mental instability exacerbated the Wars of the Roses.

1478:

Baldassare Castiglione

Diplomat, courtier and writer, Castiglione is best known for his work The Book of the Courtier, which outlined suitable behavior for nobility at the end of the Middle Ages. A portrait of Castiglione by Raphael is available at Carol Gerten's Fine Art Museum.
