This Week's Feature
I love my new computer. Without it, I surely would not be able to create the original clip art I can offer you this week. Need a castle, a sword, a knight on a horse? It's free for your use.
In the News
Northern Renaissance Faire needs your help!
Reenactment Guide Lisa Scovel has the latest info on the Renaissance Pleasure Faire, which opens early this year due to the uncertainties of its future. Find out about the endangered lands that have been the site of the Faire for decades, and who to contact if you'd like to help.
Reminder
Back-in-Time Survey drawing to a close.
The delay caused by your guide's computer troubles has given some of you another chance to respond to the survey. These answers will be posted soon. But now that I've got a working computer, there are no more excuses! The new deadline for getting your answers in is June 28th. We've had a fairly good response, but I still hope to hear from more of you.
Remember, if you don't want me to post your answers at the site, please let me know! I'd still like to know who you'd visit and why. And although Uncle Harry's busy working on improvements to TempTer, he'd also like to know what you want in a Time Machine ;-)
Medieval Minutia
Charlemagne was an insomniac. During his sleepless hours he would diligently practice writing, a skill he would never truly master.

Chat!
Our chat room is open at all times, and you can find your guide there most week-nights at 11:00 pm eastern and later. Drop on by and chat about medieval history and the Renaissance!
I'm often online for one reason or another at odd hours. If you drop into the chat room and find it empty, or if you've got an interesting conversation going you'd like me to join, email me at historymedren.guide@about.com. If I'm online I'll be glad to drop by!
On the Board
Is there a good book that you'd like to recommend? Whether it's historical fiction or investigations into history, we'd like to know. Come join the discussion, and see what other visitors to the site are reading.
Also on the board:
Michaela is looking for "sites with GOOD pictures and ideas on creating period clothing." If you know of a site with clear illustrations or a book she can consult, please post the information for Michaela and other interested visitors.
Remember, registering to use the bulletin board is quick, easy, and painless; and once you register at one board, you can log on to every board at the Mining Co. Just head on over to our log-in page and click the Register button! If you have any difficulties, please email me right away.
