Norway Plans Bridge Based on da Vinci Design
The Norwegian highway department is planning a 190-foot version of the bridge Leonardo da Vinci designed for Sultan Bajazet II in 1502. The original plan of the bridge was 1,155 feet long and intended to cross the Golden Horn inlet in Istanbul, but the Sultan didn't believe it would work. Now the design will be realized in Aas Township, more than a thousand miles away from the Golden Horn.
