Richard de Bury

Also known as Richard Aungerville, de Bury took his name from his birthplace near Bury St. Edmund's. He served as High Chancellor and Treasurer of England, and eventually rose to the post of Bishop of Durham, but he is best known to us as a bibliophile and author of Philobiblon: The Love of Books.
