Genghis Khan
Rising from obscure origins, Genghis (also Chingis) Khan united the tribes of Mongolia under one rule, then began a series of conquests that took his armies to China in the east and to the Adriatic in the west. He built an impressive empire that his grandson Kublai took to even greater heights, but he is most well known as a ruthless destroyer.
