Byzantine Art and Architecture

The Byzantine Architecture Project
Princeton University project studies Byzantine buildings from a structural and an art-historical perspective. Of particular interest are the pages on the Hagia Sophia and the Kariye Camii.
Byzantium 1200
This project aims to create computer reconstructions of Byzantine monuments of Constantinople in the year 1200. The site has a vast selection of complete and incomplete models available for viewing. Very nicely done by Albrecht Berger and A. Tayfun Öner.
The Hagia Sophia
Some nice photos of the detailed computer model created by Marcus Hurley.
Works of Art
This virtual gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Art includes background and large, beautiful images of icons, caskets, medallions and other treasures.
