The quotes at this site come from a variety of sources, including but not limited to The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, third edition, and Bartleby's Respectfully Quoted: A Dictionary of Quotations. Some quotes were extracted from primary source material written by the individual quoted.
In order to provide a useful reference, I have included the origin of the quote (a book, a letter, a speech) when it is known. If no accompanying information is provided, it is because I have been unable to find any pertinent details. I regret that I will be unable to answer requests for further information about the quotes, as I have none that isn't already posted at this site.
