Historical accuracy

Spot-on

Story and writing quality

A great read!

Would you use this to get someone interested in the MA?

Yes

Why?

The story really shows how difficult it would have been to be born in one class and move up to another without creating enemies determined to see that you are put back where you belong.

Would this be good for younger readers?

No

Explain

It is a rather violent book in many places so it may be appropriate for young adults, but certainly not for children.

My Review

The historical accuracy is based on writings on the history of that era while the characters and the main story are fictional.

I found the book very difficult to put down from shortly before the middle until the end. The beginning of the book is necessary in order to understand the actual story and in a way is a separate story in itself since it is more about the main characters parents and not the main character.

This book is truly one of the best books I have read in a long time, but keep in mind I live in Europe and finding books in English limits my choices.

Would you recommend this to a friend?

Yes
