A Blog about Blogs
Wednesday February 6, 2008
This week a few particularly interesting entries in the medieval blog world have caught my attention, and I'd like to catch your attention with them, too.
- At Medieval Material Culture, Karen Larsdatter shares her thoughts on the Gough Map, a 14th century work of beguiling charm and surprising accuracy.
- In his Corner of Tenth-Century Europe, Jonathan Jarrett takes a look at feudalism in Anglo-Saxon England.
- This week's Weird Medieval Animal at Jennifer Lynn Jordan's Per Omnia Saecula is the Chimera.
- Michelle of Heavenfield takes an investigative look at the the choir of virgins in the Benedictional of Aethelwold with an eye toward determining which Mary is depicted (and shares some marvelous images in the process).
- It looks like Carl Pyrdum of Got Medieval is in procrastination mode again with regards to his dissertation. Bad for his academic career, but good for us blog browsers, as his quest for Google Penance is a riot. Don't ask me to explain, just be sure to keep reading.
