Correct!
Just after Pope Urban II made his call for Crusade in November of 1095, Peter began a tour of France and Germany, preaching the merits of crusade as he went. He appealed to all manner of folk, who, though untrained and unprepared, took up arms and followed Peter to the Holy Land in what became known as the Crusade of the Poor People. Before the First Crusade was even underway, they left Europe for Constantinople in the spring of 1096.
