In the News

The richest man of the millennium

William Gates? Nope! When medieval currency is translated into its modern equivalent, the Norman warlord William of Warenne turns up as the richest man of the last 1000 years. See what famous medieval names made the list in the article at BBC online.

Lindisfarne Gospels headed for new home

The priceless seventh-century gospels, currently located in the British Library, are going on loan to the Laing art gallery in Newcastle. Plans are in the works to house them permanently at Durham Cathedral, where they resided before being removed by Henry VIII during the English Reformation. For more information see the article by David Bamber and Chris Hastings at the Telegraph.

Anglo-Saxon jewelry

Get out your metal detectors. A selection of jewelry discovered in a field in Worcestershire will be auctioned at Christie's and is estimated to fetch as much as £12,000. Find out more in the article by Donald Macgillivray at the Telegraph.

New in the Videostore

Check it out in our videostore.
