The Through-the-Centuries Quiz
Dateline: 12/30/99
It's almost here: that exciting moment when not only the year but the century and the millennium end, and a new year, century and millennium begin.1 Of course, it's a good time to prepare for Y2K, make resolutions, and look forward to what the next thousand years will bring. But for us history buffs, it's a particularly good time to look back.
So this week I've devised a quiz to test just how much you know about our past. The answers are multiple choice, and you only need to know in which century each event occurred. However, if you miss one question, you have to go back to the beginning of the quiz if you want to continue. (Hey, I had to make it a little tough!)
If you make it all the way through the quiz, you can submit your name for inclusion in our list of Triumphant Time Travelers, which will appear at the site at our next update.
Our quiz uses Javascript. If you're not sure whether your browser has Javascript enabled, please visit our Javascript test page.
If you make a mistake, you'll have an opportunity to look for the answer to the question you just missed by following a link to one of our net link directory pages. You may wish to prepare for the quiz by visiting our directory of net links for Timelines, Chronologies, and Dynastic Tables. Or jump right in and see how much you already know.

Note
1Technically, the new century and new millennium do not begin until January 1, 2001; but I'm not picky! Besides, who am I to stand in the way of a really good party? [back]
