The Dark Age Quiz
An easy quiz about the Early Middle Ages
If you think you know next to nothing about the Early Middle Ages, you're not alone. The time period is still sometimes called "the Dark Ages" because, compared to other time periods, so little information is available. Still, enough is known to make this one of the most intriguing periods in western history.
The Dark Age Quiz will test what you know about this obscure time period. Though not quite as easy as the Starter Quiz, it's still relatively simple, and even the newcomer to medieval studies should have no trouble making it to the end. (If you haven't already taken the Medieval History Starter Quiz, you may want to try it, then come back here.)
The quiz consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, each with only three possible answers. If you miss a question, you get a chance to try again. The correct answers for every question will include links to more information about the topic here at the Medieval History site or at another About site. Each link will open in a new window, so you can easily return to the quiz by closing the new window when you're done. (Don't forget to bookmark any pages you find interesting!)
Even the wrong-answer pages have a tidbit of information about the incorrect choice, so, hopefully, there's something to learn on every page.
When you're done with the quiz, you may not be an expert on the Early Middle Ages, but you won't be in the dark about them anymore!
